HOSPITAL HANDYMAN
JOB TITLE: HOSPITAL HANDYMAN
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose: To ensure the hospital facilities, equipment and infrastructure are safely maintained and fully functional, by carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, inspections and preventative upkeep to support a safe, complaint and efficient healthcare environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all hospital equipment, fixtures, and facilities are safe and operational.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inventory of tools and materials.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
- Support the hospital’s smooth operations by minimizing facility-related disruptions.
- Assist with setup and maintenance during hospital opening and ongoing operations.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate.
- A relevant trade certificate would be an advantage.
Experience:
- Proven experience in maintenance work, ideally in a hospital, commercial, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and fire regulations.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong practical skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and facilities efficiently.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and building regulations.
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Reliability, responsibility and strong work ethic.
- Problem-solving skills and initiative to address proactively.
