HOSPITAL ELECTRICIAN
JOB TITLE: HOSPITAL ELECTRICIAN
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose: To ensure the hospital’s electrical systems, equipment, and installations, supporting uninterrupted healthcare services and compliance with electrical and safety regulations.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections and testing of all electrical systems and equipment.
- Respond promptly to electrical faults, breakdowns, and emergency repair requests.
- Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
- Minimize downtime of electrical systems to support uninterrupted hospital operations.
- Assist with setup, installation, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and infrastructure.
- Identify potential electrical hazards and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure electrical needs are met safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate.
- A relevant electrician certificate/qualification.
Experience:
- Proven experience as an electrician in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with backup power systems.
- Experience ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety and operational protocols.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, wiring and fault-finding.
- Ability to work safely and in compliance with electrical regulations.
- Good time management and ability to prioritize urgent repairs.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliability, responsibility and strong work ethic.
- Problem-solving skills and initiative to address proactively as well as ability to prioritize.
