THEATRE DAY UNIT MANAGER
JOB TITLE: Theatre day unit manager
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose: To oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the theatre day unit, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while managing staff, resources, and compliance with clinical and hospital standards.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Oversee and coordinate daily operational management of the theatre day unit to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care throughout.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the clinical practices and hospital standards.
- Lead, supervise, and develop theatre nursing and support staff, including performance management, training, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, ethical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Monitor and improve theatre utilization, case flow, turnaround times, and overall operational efficiency.
- Manage the unit’s budget, control measures, risk management processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective coordination of patient admissions, peri-operative care, and discharge processes to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate.
- Relevant SANC Certification.
Experience:
- 3 years proven experience as a Theatre Day Unit Manager in a hospital.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused care.
