CSSD WASHERS
JOB TITLE: CSSD Washers
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose:
- Responsible for cleaning, decontaminating and preparing surgical instruments and medical equipment ensuring all items are safe, sterile, and ready to use for patient care.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Sort, record, and clean surgical imbrutements, anaesthesia tubing, and bottles using the mechanical washer.
- Disinfect instruments and equipment and assemble packs in the dirty area.
- Sterilize and store all packs safely in the sterile store.
- Operate CSSD machines efficiently and safely.
- Monitor stock levels and check expiry date dates of all items.
- Maintain professional relationships with all CSSD clients and staff.
- Collect non-sterile instruments and deliver processed sterile packs to wards and divisions.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate
- CSSD Training certificate is an advantage
Experience:
- Previous experience as a CSSD Washer in a private hospital for a minimum of 2 years.
Skills and Attributes:
- Attention to detail to prevent potential surgical infections.
- Reliability and responsibility ensuring all tasks are complete.
- Ability to collaborate with operating theatre staff
- Caution when handling delicate and sharp equipment.
