THEATER REGISTERED NURSE
JOB TITLE: THEATER RN
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose: To coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care within the operating theatre, ensuring patient safety, effective surgical support and compliance with professional and regulatory standards prescribed by SANC.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Provide direct intraoperative nursing care by scrubbing and assisting surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures across multiple disciplines, in accordance with the scope of practice regulated by SANC.
- Maintain and manage the sterile field, prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to procedure requirements and surgeon preference cards, and ensure strict adherence to infection prevention standards.
- Anticipate surgical needs, handle instruments competently and support the surgical team to promote efficiency, patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes.
- Ensure accurate theatre documentation, safe medication handling where applicable, and compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant SANC certification
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a private hospital with extensive experience and understanding as a theatre nurse.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work sensitively with people of different backgrounds.
- Strong patient centered approach with a caring attitude.
- Has a solid and clear understanding for patient confidentiality.
- Excellent understanding of private hospitals, theatre procedures and policies.
