ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY REGISTERED NURSE
JOB TITLE: A&E RN
WORKPLACE: Mogalakwena Private Hospital (Mokopane)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent
Purpose:
Provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and emergency nursing care to patients in the Accident and Emergency unit, ensuring timely intervention, effective triage and safe coordination of high-pressure situations.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care, ensuring accurate assessment, treatment, documentation, and safe patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Lead and coordinate shift operations, including staff allocation, triage oversight, emergency response readiness, and optimal patient flow within the unit.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, health safety, medication management, and risk mitigation protocols to minimize clinical and medical legal risk.
- Monitor and manage departmental resources, including staffing, equipment, stock control, budgeting, and cost containment practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, emergency services, and hospital departments to ensure seamless emergency care delivery.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to nursing staff, supporting training, professional development, and adherence to organizational standards
- Maintain operational preparedness for urgent cases and disaster situations, ensuring the unit is always fully equipped and responsive.
Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate
- Relevant SANC Certification
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years working experience in an accident and emergency unit
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work sensitively with people of different backgrounds.
- Strong patient centered approach with a caring attitude.
- Has a solid and clear understanding for patient confidentiality.
- In full depth knowledge of an accident and emergency unit procedures and policies.
